At Tridents Baseball, our mission is to prepare 5th–8th grade student-athletes to succeed in high school baseball—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Backed by Corona Del Mar High School and Sage Hill School, Tridents is more than a competitive travel program—it’s a structured, year-round development platform that teaches the game the right way while instilling life skills that extend far beyond the diamond.
We train with purpose, intent, and high expectations. Our nine-month in-season training cycle is designed to mirror the structure and intensity of high-level high school programs, giving players a clear developmental pathway from middle school to the varsity level.
Weekly In-Season Workouts Include:
- Position-Specific Defensive Work:
- Players train in small groups based on their primary position—catchers, middle infielders, corner infielders, and outfielders—with focused instruction on both the physical and mental aspects of their role. Reps are detailed, high-tempo, and designed to elevate fundamentals and decision-making.
- Batting Practice, Bullpens & Strength Training:
- Hitting sessions include a rotation through multiple stations focused on swing mechanics, bat speed, situational hitting, and approach at the plate Pitchers receive small-group bullpen instruction with an emphasis on mechanics, command, and pitch development. All players finish with a baseball-specific medicine ball and mobility circuit tailored to hitting and throwing performance.
- Team Practice:
- Players participate in full-team field practices designed to reinforce team defense, base running, situational awareness, and competitive execution. These sessions also build chemistry and communication, preparing players for the demands of high school team play.
Offseason Phase (3-Month Rest & Development Window):
We believe in rest, recovery, and long-term development. During our offseason, we intentionally scale back from on-field activity and throwing to promote physical recovery and reduce injury risk, while still advancing key areas of athletic performance.
- Strength, Core, Agility & Arm Care:
- Athletes rotate through structured training stations focused on improving mobility, stability, explosiveness, and arm health. These workouts are age-appropriate and designed to enhance performance while reducing the risk of injury.
- Hitting Development:
- With the demands of in-season competition behind them, players use this time to make deeper mechanical adjustments at the plate, refine their swing path, and improve bat speed.
- Player Evaluations:
- Each player receives an individual development review with coaching staff. We discuss progress, goals, areas of strength, and key focus points for continued growth—both as a player and a teammate.
At Tridents, we develop complete players who are prepared to contribute to their high school programs on Day One—not just with skill, but with maturity, discipline, and a love for the game.
