    Letter from the President

    Update - Coronavirus (COVID-19) Response

    April 4, 2020

Dear Parents and Friends of the Newport Beach Baseball Association:

I hope this note finds you and families all healthy and doing well.  On behalf of the Board of Directors of the NBBA, allow me to extend our thanks for your patience during this remarkable time.  Pursuant to guidance from PONY International, we have decided to further postpone the re-start of the season to no earlier than May 1, 2020.  While this is no doubt disappointing, the health and safety of our families, players, and volunteers is paramount, so conforming to this guidance is the right choice.

I know many of you are questioning whether we will be able to re-start our season this year.  The Board recognizes this as well.  At this time, our goal is to play baseball again this season.  Whether that means a shorter season, extending the season into June or July, or some other option, please know that all possibilities will be explored.  If we are forced to cancel the season, we will notify you as soon as the decision is made.  The Board will meet formally in the next few weeks and we hope to have further information at that time.

Until then, it is our hope you remain safe and healthy and please remember to follow the guidelines provided by medical authorities in an effort to bring an end to the spread of this virus sooner rather than later.  I look forward to seeing you out on the baseball fields again soon.  As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
