WELCOME TO NEWPORT BEACH BASEBALL!
August 3, 2020
Dear Parents, Volunteers, and Friends of NBBA:
I hope you and your families are healthy and well and you are managing through this extraordinary summer. I know there have been a dearth of opportunities for your kids to get out of the house and play with their friends. At this point in the calendar we would normally be gearing up for Fall Baseball for the Pinto National levels and above. Unfortunately, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, we regret to announce our traditional fall baseball season is cancelled.
We are, however, looking to provide an opportunity to get the kids back out on the field in some form. Our goal this fall is to host a series of clinics starting in late August running into November. We are working directly with the City of Newport Beach, along with following the local, county, and state health guidelines to prepare a program that provides a baseball experience in the safest way possible. It is our hope to offer twice a week clinics run by professional, experienced coaches for Pinto National (age 8) through Pony (age 14), grouping kids by their respective baseball divisions.
Of course, we have all learned over the last several months, things can change on short notice. Over the next several weeks we hope to have some specific details regarding our fall program and we will communicate those as soon as possible. Whatever form this program takes, know that we will have strict Covid-19 protocols in place. These will include temperature checks, hand sanitizer stations, social distancing and/or mask requirements, and limits on spectator interaction. Once we have more details on our program we will include our full Covid-19 policy in that communication to you.
Until then, stay safe and enjoy this time with your families. As always, our primary goal is for the health and safety of all of our league participants. We are eager to provide opportunities for the kids to get out on the field again and while we know that the decision to cancel the fall season is disappointing, we will do everything we can to get the kids playing some form of baseball again soon. Be well and I look forward to seeing you all out on the field again soon.
